Description
The grapes were sourced from the Wrattonbully region of the Limestone Coast. The juice was wild fermented in French oak and mixed on lees to provide texture. The Pinot Grigio was co-fermented with a small amount of Viognier to add a unique flavour profile to this wine and to enhance the naturalflavours of the Pinot Grigio.
Aroma: Jasmine, wild flowers and a hint of red apple, Cardamom and cashew.
Palate: A mix of fresh flowers with honeydew melon, Cinnamon and crunchy pear acidity.
Tasting Notes
The Carnival of Venice began in the 12th century – a celebration of victory against the Patriarch of Aquileia. Each year San Marco Square would fill with people dancing and feasting behind elaborate and exotic masks, adding to the mystique of the Carnival. And so La Maschera (the mask) was born. Protected from the harsh northern European climate by the Alps, these cooler climes are somewhat similar to the coastal maritime regions of the Limestone Coast where the grapes for this wine were harvested. Aromas of Jasmine, wild flowers and a hint of red apple, cardamom and cashew. On the palate: A mix of fresh flowers with honeydew melon, sweet cinnamon stick and crunchy pear acidity.Product Details
